5 Months Old!

Molly Kate turned 5 months old this week! It's hard to believe it's almost been half a year since she joined our little family. Her little personality is coming out, more and more each day. She is generally a very happy baby, with fussy times when she's overtired or hungry. I can pretty easily take her out and about without worry that she'll become inconsolable...and one of the nice things about nursing is that her food source is ALWAYS with her! ;-) I really am so happy that we've made it this long with breastfeeding. It seems to be becoming easier each day, as she is getting more efficient.
Some new developments lately:

She rolled from back to front this week!!

We put her in the church nursery a couple weeks ago for the first time! She didn't do great the first week, but did better the next week. I went up to get her and she was asleep in one of the swings. :) I've been leaving her in the nursery at BSF for awhile now, but really wanted to hold off on it at church until absolutely necessary. She is becoming a lot more wiggly so it was time.

She has had oatmeal cereal and bananas! I wanted to hold off until 6 months, but the doc gave me the go ahead to start since she's still up every 3 hours at night. Doesn't seem to be helping much with that, but she is definitely enjoying her food. I made the bananas myself with the Baby Bullet! So fun!

She has discovered her feet and toes. So cute.

She literally cannot keep her eyes off of Caleb when he's in the room. She worships the ground he walks on, and makes happy noises she makes for no one else for him. Love it. He loves her, too. He's always quick to pick out a bow for her, help me with her, etc. He was so upset when she got her 4 month shots--so concerned about her boo boos. He has such a sweet heart.

I *think* she's reaching out for me and realizes when someone else is holding her who is not me. Let the fun phase of separation anxiety begin! ;-) Daddy has his feelings hurt that she always seems to want me, but I reassure him that it's probably not ME she wants as much as it is her food source. :-)

She hasn't pulled any bows out of her hair yet, and I take this as a small victory, since she's grabbing at many other things. Caleb gets very upset if she's not wearing a properly coordinating bow with her daily outfits. He's going to be such a good daddy someday!

She actually enjoyed her bath the other night which is a huge improvement from screaming bloody murder every other time. I think she'll be like Caleb and start to enjoy her baths more when she can sit up unsupported without a baby bathtub.

I can no longer wear my hair down or earrings unless I want to be in some serious pain when I'm holding her. ;-)

She is sleeping in her crib instead of the Rock N Play. Still waking every 3 hours, and still ending up in bed with me sometime during the night, but for the MOST part, she'll eat and fall back asleep. Someday she'll sleep all night, right?!?! Her naps are still not as consistent as I'd like, but it all depends on the day and if we're out and about or home.

Everywhere we go, she makes new friends with her big smiles and giggles! Love her!! :)

Here are some recent pictures:

Enjoying her bath the other night

Jumping in the Rainforest Jumperoo! Her feet don't quite touch the ground, but she still loves it.

First time trying solids! Oatmeal cereal with "mommy milk"

She wanted to do it herself. :)

 Loved loved loved it!

 5 month picture time!

They ADORE each other.

I'm missing your precious little ones! I know I made the choice to leave facebook, but I wanted you to know I'm still thinking about you guys and praying for you often. I remember the days when Ben would get his feelings hurt when Ian would cry for me if he took him, but that phase passes SO quickly. Now this same kid cries when Daddy has to go to work some days! Love to you guys!
