9 months old

Molly Kate is 9 months old!! WOW! That is SO close to a year, I cannot even believe it. She went yesterday for her 9 month checkup and she weighs 17 lbs and is 24 inches long...22nd and 25th percentiles--she is our LITTLE girl, for sure!! But she has a big noggin--in the 82nd percentile for head circumference. Caleb has a big head, too, we like to think it holds his big brain. :)

She is on the move! Finally crawling! She's not a "pro" at it, yet, but she is definitely working on it, and I'm sure she'll be a pro very, very soon. We are having to be a lot more vigilant about what is on the floor, etc. It's hard to get back into that mindset when you haven't been there in a while! Time to move Caleb's beloved "marble toy" upstairs...that's an ER visit just waiting to happen.

She is also "talking" a lot...she babbles "bababa" and "dadada" and we *think* she said Dada while Bryan was holding her the other day--so we're counting it. :) I love to hear her little voice-it is so, so sweet.

She is SO SO happy, 99% of the time. The other 1% is when she is tired or hungry. Everywhere we go, people stop and talk to her, want to touch her (!), ask me about her, etc. And for the most part, she just grins and grins at them...unless they try to take her away from me, and then the tears turn on. She is definitely in the "stranger anxiety" stage, where she ONLY wants mommy or daddy. Fun times! Today we went and visited our fertility specialist and his staff for the first time since she was born, and it was so great. She wasn't too sure about Dr. A trying to hold her, but she turned on the smiles for me when I pulled out my camera. She knows what to do. ;-)

Still up a lot in the night normally. Sigh. Sadly, I think my body has adjusted to being up every 3 hours! I KNOW she can make it all night, because she has done it a couple of times...but not consistently. It's ok, like I've said before-at least she goes right back to sleep. I think she needs a "pacifier" in the night when she wakes up, and since she won't take one, she has her mommy. I know it won't be forever. :-)

She and Caleb are so cute together...although he is NOT a fan of her trying to get his Leapster when he's playing it, ha! She LOVES when he spins her around in her Exersaucer (MUCH too hard, in Mommy's opinion, but what do I know??) and when he pushes her on the swings at the park (too hard, again, but she's not complaining!). He loves her so much and she spends most of her day craning her neck to see him and what he's doing. This girl also LOVES her Daddy. She just lights up whenever he shows her the least amount of attention. I love it...I SO hope she is a Daddy's girl.

She loves her food! Snack wise, she's not a huge fan of puffs or the yogurt melts, but she loves her some Crunchies (any flavor, brand, etc.). What's not to love? :) She also loves peas, avocados, bread, spaghetti, rice, and doesn't really turn up her nose at ANY of her baby foods.  It's nice to be able to offer her snacks when I'm in the middle of something, she's so content to just sit in her high chair and have her little snack! She's still a big fan of mommy's milk, too. So glad I've gone this long with nursing her-what a blessing.

Molly Kate, you bring such JOY into our lives every day. Your 2 teeth grin (still no sign of any new teeth any time soon!) is just plain adorable, we love when you scrunch up your face when you smile, and we love your baby babbles. Seeing you grow and change is so much fun. We love you!!

Recent photos

Haven't updated in a while, but wanted to share a few random, recent photos!

Hanging out in her high chair. :)

In the hotel pool in Owensboro--WAAAAY too cold. He had much more fun in the hot tub (which wasn't too hot)

On the BIG bed in the hotel in Owensboro when we visited Bryan's grandmother.

 My whole world. :)

 Looking pretty!!

These two are quite the pair. :)

He is generally a really great sport about her "getting him" etc. Unless he's not in the mood. And then...no.
Out of order, but Caleb LOVED his "magic bed" (aka pull out couch) in the hotel in Owensboro. We let him jump on it for fun. :)
