Monday weigh in, on Wednesday! Plus other things...

Just now getting to blog, sorry! I was down .4 again this week, so that is a grand total of 17.8. I wasn't too thrilled with the low amount, but I KNOW the problem the past TWO weeks has been the exercise issue. It sounds like an excuse, and it is, but it is SO nasty hot and muggy here...we don't belong to a gym...Bryan's been working days...etc etc etc. However, I did do my Cardio Max DVD the other day, got up and walk in the gross heat yesterday...1 hour...and then today I did my Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD again. I am really looking forward to it cooling down enough that walking is easier. We went for a family walk on Sat, when the weather was PERFECT, and it was amazing how much easier it was to walk in than in the nastiness right now. I think the past couple of weeks have shown how important exercise is to this whole thing, and I really need to work on that. Plus, it always makes me feel so much better...physically, emotionally, spiritually. I really want to reach the 20 lbs goal, and it is SO close I can taste it! I just need to remember that Weight Watchers saying, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." It is SO true. I can't wait to buy new fall clothes, my summer clothes are literally falling off of me. Today I could pull my shorts completely off without unbuttoning or unzipping them. CRAZY! So even though the weight loss has slowed down a bit, I am happy to be LOSING, regardless, and not staying the same or gaining. I just need to step up my game a bit.

Speaking of the heat, we went down to the courthouse this morning with my friend Kristy and her kiddos to let the kids play in the fountains there in their swimsuits. The fountains shoot up from the ground at various intervals and various heights. I wasn't sure if Caleb would like it or not, but he LOVED it!! I should have been taking him to do this all summer long! Plus, it was free (except for parking!), which is always a plus. My camera is being replaced or repaired right now, so I only took one pic with my phone that I'll post if I can figure out how. :-) I also took a little video of them splashing around. We went to Woodland Park afterwards, and then through the drive-thru at Chick-fil-a for lunch, and then he CRASHED...literally, for almost 4 hours. Like I said, I should have been doing this all summer!!

I am so proud of Bryan. He was interviewed today for an article St.Joe is going to put out (in their "faith" magazine) about his trip to Haiti. He hasn't had the time he'd like to have to finish up his blog about the trip, but it is on his to-do list! He can't wait to go back and help some more, possibly in the spring. I am also so proud of him, because he starts his program to get his BSN this month at UK. He already has an RN, so he's officially a nurse, but a Bachelor's will be the stepping stone he needs to move on to his Master's and Doctorate work. It should be about a year long. He works SO very hard for our family, and I am so, so grateful that he works so I can stay home with Caleb. School started this week for our public schools, and I couldn't help but think, WOW...in just 3 short years Caleb will be in Kindergarten...and I'm sure time will just fly by. We're looking forward to the Toddler-Parent Class we're taking at a local private school here in September. It sounds like a lot of fun...kinda like a pre-preschool thing...and I get to stay. :-) I really think Caleb is so smart (of course, I'm biased!!) and can't wait for him to really start learning things in a classroom environment. This is just once a week for a couple of hours, but they will be doing learning centers, storytime, crafts, etc. Can't wait!!

Well, that's it for now!

Weigh in time and Caleb updates

I was down .4 this week...bringing the grand total to 17.4 pounds! I wasn't too thrilled with such a small loss, but it is better than staying the same or gaining, so I'll take it. :) I know the reason it was not much is because I didn't exercise ONCE last week. I felt pooey (is that a word??) most of the week, it is SOO hot and humid outside...I just couldn't do it. So yesterday morning I got out my CardioMax DVD and did it (my Shred DVD is all scratched up and won't work now!!). I am sore today, so it must have done something! Ha! I REALLY want to be at the 20 lbs mark...and it's within reach-amazing!

That's all the weigh-in news! Other than that, life is good...Bryan is good-working days right now at his "new" job for the next week or so until he switches back to nights, Caleb is great, talking up a STORM these days. His favorite sentence right now is "I wanna hode (hold) it!" and he wants to "HEP! (help)" with EVERYTHING...from the seatbelt buckles to feeding the dogs to whatever...he wants to help. He also likes to run and while running yell, "I'm RUNNING!" Too funny. We're working on potty training and he's doing pretty well. He'll sit on the potty and pee...he gets an M and M for doing it. I bought him some training underwear and some big boy undies, and only put the training ones on him once so far. We're ALWAYS out and about, and I really need to just stay home for a few days to work on this training thing, since we obviously aren't ready to do it in public yet.

Also, the other big news is that my dad and his wife moved back to Ky this week!! They bought a house in Boone's Trace, which is in Richmond...pretty much a nice subdivision in the forest! LOL! His backyard is really cool...there's a creek running through it, it's in the woods, they have a fire pit, etc. Caleb will LOVE it as he gets older, I have a feeling! He was pretty happy just throwing rocks and sticks in the creek the other night! The house is great, and we're just so happy to have them closer. They're a little worried about how they're going to handle the winter (after being in Houston for the past 6 or so years), but I'm sure they'll be fine. My dad has a twin bed he's going to give us to make Caleb's bed when we're ready. Caleb still doesn't try to climb out of his crib, so I'm okay with waiting a little bit longer. I have found some bedding I am in love with from Pottery Barn Kids, and my mom is going to go in half with me for my upcoming birthday. I remember when I wanted things for ME for my birthday, haha! Ahhh, the life of a mommy. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
