Today we went to the cemetery to take some spring pics. Got some good ones of my sweet little boy. Here are a few of my favorites.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter this year! The weather here was PERFECT, we couldn't have asked for anything better! We ended up going to church on Sat. night to avoid the crazy crowd at the 10am on Sunday, and it was just amazing. I think we were the only church in Lexington (and maybe anywhere?) that began our service with "Footloose"...:) Jon spent a large part of his message speaking about the symbolism of the Passover and what it meant when Jesus took the "afikomen"--the piece of bread that is traditionally hidden at the Passover meal which symbolized the Messiah-and broke it, symbolizing that HE is the Messiah and that His body would be broken...and how amazing that His body didn't STAY broken, but that He was raised from the dead, so we can have eternal life with Him forever and ever. As one of my Facebook friends put it: Then bursting forth in glorious Day, Up from the grave He rose again, And as He stands in victory, Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine, Bought with the precious blood of Christ Caleb is obviously still too young to "get" this, but I am really looking forward to teaching him the Easter story when he is old enough.

Sunday morning we got up and Caleb got to see what the Easter bunny left him...a basket of goodies! A Veggie Tales DVD, a Hermie and Friends DVD, a couple Easter books, and a new "big boy" Bible. We went to the early service at church to help out in the nursery, and then came home, Caleb napped, and then we were off to the baptisms in the pond. Over 150 people were baptized!!! Amazing!! We came home, dyed eggs (not the most fun with a 20 month old, FYI...), cooked out, and enjoyed the evening, since Bryan got called off of work. A perfect day!

God is so good!

I just love how God works, don't you? This past week, we got to pick up our new (to us) car: my grandmother's that I was blessed enough to receive when she passed away last fall. It is a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and it is so nice...you have to realize, I have never owned any car other than the one I got when I was 16--my 1992 maroon, 2-door Toyota Celica. I never had any desire to buy a new car because that one was always fantastic...and I didn't want a car payment, ever! (Thanks, Dave Ramsey!) I figured I'd drive it till it couldn't drive anymore. It never had any serious problems...just the air conditioning was replaced a couple times, and lately the driver's side door wouldn't open from the outside, but that's it. So the idea of having a car that is only 3 years old is beyond my comprehension...and Bryan's!

Anyway, once we had Caleb, we knew there was no way we'd be putting a carseat in my car, so Bryan started driving it to work and back, and anytime Caleb and I were out in his Honda.

When we found out I would be getting my grandma's car, we knew we needed to get rid of the Toyota. We knew we wouldn't receive a lot for it if we sold it, so after some prayer and discussion, we decided we'd give it away to our church's CARS ministry that gives cars to people who need them. They fix them up and everything before they give them away. That was the plan. Then one night I was online and looking at our church's website that is like Craigslist, and saw a post for a single income family that needed a car. I KNEW that THESE were the people we needed to give the Toyota to.

However, once I stated emailing the girl back and forth, I found out they really needed a 4 door car they could get a carseat in since they have a 2 year old little girl. The church gave them a car to fit this need (YAY!). BUT, the girl told me that they were still interested in the Toyota because they'd never had 2 cars before-she always had to drive her husband to and from work, and was totally limited by his schedule. She mentioned that she wanted to volunteer at church and things but couldn't due to only having one car. So, we knew, once again, that we still needed to give the car to them.

This whole thing has been so much FUN. We were blessed, AND got to bless others...and, when I sent the girl a pic of the car, she almost cried because she and her hubby had convinced themselves that it would be "early 90s teal"...haha...and apparently her hubby's favorite school is Texas A&M (and he owns everything in their colors), whose colors are, yep, MAROON and white! He is over the moon! How cool is it that God knew what they needed, down to the color detail?!?! I LOVE how He works!!

Just had to share...God is good-ALL the time...and ALL the time, God is good! Happy Easter everyone!
