Another milestone...

Caleb can now face out in his Baby Bjorn! He loves it! Whenever we go on a walk, he just looks around, up at the trees, etc., it's so sweet. And both times we've gone lately he's fallen asleep in it.

Anniversary weekend

This weekend Bryan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! Our actual anniversary is October 2. We went on the "My Old Kentucky Dinner Train" in Bardstown. It is a 1940s style dinner train. The food was really good and we went on a Murder Mystery night, so they did a play while we were eating. We shared a table with a sweet younger couple. Bryan had a dozen roses waiting for me at the table when we got there. Then that night we stayed at a hotel, for free, in an AMAZING suite. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of it. My mom watched Caleb for us that night. I'm sure we'll do something special on actual day, too, but this was our "big" thing. It's hard to believe it was 2 years ago that we said "I do" on a gorgeous beach in Jamaica. I am so blessed to be married to such a sweet, loving, thoughtful man, and I can't wait to see what the future brings!! I love you honey!

How sweet are these pictures? And I couldn't capture the BEST smiles--he seems to know when I've got the camera out!

Joining the gym...

This past weekend Bryan and I decided to join the Y, after checking out several other gyms. The Y is very family friendly and has so much to offer. On Monday I took a step class in the morning...it totally kicked my rear!!! The hardest part was keeping up with all the steps...I took step a few years ago, but it has been a while! Then I went back at night and took a Zumba class...whew! Zumba is the new "it" aerobics thing...it's Latin American dancing pretty much and it is HIGH intensity but fun, too! I learned some fun moves! Bryan took a spinning (bicycling) class that wore him out, too! We are both determined to get into shape...my body is so weird now after housing an enormous baby! I really want to feel comfortable getting in the pool next summer, so that's my goal. Although the Y has 2 indoor pools I'd like to feel comfortable getting into BEFORE next summer! It also helps that "The Biggest Loser" started tonight, it is very motivating! I know we can do it, it's just a matter of putting our minds to it. Wish us luck!!

Stats--oops, I forgot!

I forgot to post Caleb's 2 month stats yesterday! He is 13 lbs 14 oz now...the first time he's been over his birth weight since he was born!! Hahaha. He is also 24.75 inches long...tall! That is the 94th percentile for length and 88th percentile for weight. I love my big boy!

2 months old!

Well, I can't believe my baby boy is 2 months old already. He got his 2 month shots today and I think it was more traumatic for me than him. He cried initally but got over it pretty quickly. Bryan stood between me and the nurse/Caleb so I didn't have to watch. I teared up and couldn't wait to hold him again. The doctor gave us some tylenol for him and we left. Well, I just had to treat myself for enduring that, so I got a yummy sweet tea from Chick-fil-a....sweet tea makes everything better!! :) Then I drove over to Shapes fitness center to ask about membership-I really want to join a gym somewhere but I want to get a good deal and good quality for what I pay for. Everyone there was SUPER nice and friendly, and Caleb made about 10 new girlfriends, but I just don't know. I'm thinking about checking out the YMCA too...I know it's more expensive but they have a pool! We'll see...Anyway, we got home from our morning out and Caleb had had enough, and let me know by WAILING....poor thing...he was so tired. Eventually he fell asleep for 3 hours, on me...I didn't dare move him. While he was sleeping I started a great book I randomly found at the library this weekend. It's called Let the Baby Drive and it's all about new motherhood...the lady who wrote it is really funny and it's a quick read. It makes me feel like all I'm going through is normal...it's good to know there are other women out there who have gone before me and lived to tell about it!!! Speaking of women who've gone before me, this Thursday I am going to a cookout to meet my MUMS (moms understanding moms) group from church! I can't wait! And then Friday I am going to MOPS (moms of preschoolers) for the first time. I can't wait to meet other moms and for Caleb to meet other babies!

My birthday

My 29th birthday was Wed.!! :) The day itself was pretty boring and long....Caleb refused to nap all day and was grumpy, but that night Bryan and I went to The Melting Pot for dinner/dessert...it was AWESOME. It was SO expensive ($120 total!!!!) but worth it for the experience and everything. We got the Smores chocolate fondue for the dessert part and all I can say is, yummy!!! Plus, Bryan had balloons waiting for me at the table, we got this really secluded, romantic table, and they took a picture of us that they framed and gave us when we left. I got my Clinique Happy perfume from Bryan--I've been out for a while now, so I was excited! Plus, our couch is kind of my gift too, and what a gift, it is awesome! We were supposed to stay at this hotel last weekend, but that is another story for another post! Last Sat. we went to Shakertown for lunch, which I LOVE...yummy Shaker tomato soup and corn sticks! And of course, my BEST gift this year was my little baby boy, and speaking of, I hear him crying so I better stop blogging and go get him!

The Shack

So, I had been hearing a lot about this book, The Shack, lately, from several friends. At a cookout on Monday, a friend of mine had in on her kitchen table and I asked if I could borrow it and return it as soon as I finished it. I finished it in TWO DAYS! It was very good and I highly recommend it. It will challenge your faith in God and make you look at your long-held beliefs more differently than you ever have before. I know it is controversial, but I think the controversy is coming from a small minority of fundamentalists who don't seem to understand that the book is fiction. In my opinion, it is a beautiful story and picture of God, the Trinity, Jesus, and our relationship with him...I can't give away the story, but it seems safe to say that the God of the universe is fond of me...what a profound, simple truth. The author's imagination is amazing. I gave it to Bryan to read and can't wait until he finishes it so we can talk about it. Go to this website: www.theshackbook.com if you are interested!!

Couch update!

I know you are on the edge of your seats, dying to know if we found a couch yet...YES we did, you can relax now (all 2 of you who read this). I was really excited because we got a great price on it, it's the exact couch we wanted and it is coming on THURSDAY!!!! I will take a picture of this lovely creation once it makes itself at home in my living room. I don't know if I will ever get up once I sit on it.
In other news, my baby boy is 8 weeks old today...oh my goodness!!!! He rewarded me today by refusing to sleep ALL DAY LONG and crying crying crying. I don't know what the deal was, but it made for a VERY long day. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm really hoping it goes better than today. He has always been a very good napper, so maybe today was a fluke?
