10 Months!

I am truly in denial that Molly Kate will be 1 in 2 months. WOW. She is in a fun stage right now...her personality is really coming out. For example, I took her to baby storytime at the library today and she had no interest in sitting in my lap...she wanted down, and army crawled across the room...JUST like Caleb would. There was a moment where she realized I was far away and she burst into tears. :( She's so good natured, even with cutting several teeth at a time right now, as well as fighting a little cold bug. Two teeth on the top have popped through now, and it looks like a couple more are on their way. She is still crawling, army-style, although she TRIES to get up on her hands and knees, especially when she's in her pack-n-play. She's still not really pulling up on her own yet, although she loves to pull up when we give her our fingers while sitting on the floor. She's NOT a fan of me leaving her in the nursery at church or at BSF. But the girl in the nursery last Sunday said she did great a few minutes after I left. BSF, not so much. I KNEW she was tired, but she was just not wanting to go to sleep in a strange environment. I'm praying so hard that tomorrow's BSF time goes better, because I didn't even get to stay for the lecture last week. :( She loves her big brother, as usual. Nobody can make her smile like he can...except maybe Daddy. I have a feeling she's going to be a Daddy's girl. :) There was a time this week when I picked her up out of her high chair and she said, "mamamamamamama" over and over. I think she knew exactly what she was saying. :) We still have issues with sleeping at night...she still wants to be up every 3/4 hours. Nursing puts her RIGHT back to sleep, but it's still frustrating because of the interrupted sleep. She's given me longer stretches every once in a while, so I KNOW she can do it...it's just a matter of doing it consistently. She loves to feed herself now, but she also still eats baby food. She loves green veggies. I was just saying tonight on FB how I can't get over how weird it is to have a baby who eats green veggies like they're candy! Tonight it was green beans, last night it was turnip greens, and I couldn't give them to her fast enough! She actually chose the green beans over strawberries...something Caleb would NEVER do. I love it...it's just crazy to me! One sad discovery we made this month is that she gets carsick! We took a family drive in the country a few Sundays ago that quickly turned into utter disaster due to a CRABBY little boy and then a little baby girl who threw up ALL over herself. And the carseat. Everywhere. It.was.horrible. We were on a bunch of really curvy roads...we felt so bad. :( I'm just loving this little girl so much. Here are some pics from our monthly photo shoot.

Soccer!!

We decided to put Caleb in soccer this fall, since he was finally old enough to do it. He is playing through a local church league that focuses on putting Christ first, then others, then yourself. Really cool concept! Anyway, his first game is tomorrow, so I wanted to get some pics up tonight. He had a rough first couple of practices, mostly due to another player on his team who was really struggling to have a good attitude, and took it out on Caleb. It was heartbreaking to see the excitement leave Caleb's eyes when he got pushed down by this kid, not once, but twice. But last night he had a really good practice, the other boy was in a good mood, and he had fun. There are a couple of boys on the team who are REALLY good...the coach's son, in particular, is a superstar! So, I don't know if Caleb will ever get near the ball, but I honestly don't care...as long as he is kind, helpful, has a good attitude, and has fun. The moment that has made me the proudest thus far is during one of the practices, when the kids were on a water break, the coach was picking up some cones by himself. Caleb saw him doing this, and ran over to help him pick up the rest of the cones, completely on his own (no prompting by me!). That is a true testament to his sweet heart that is always looking to help, and it made me so proud of him I could burst. I love that little boy.

First Day of Preschool!

Caleb's first day of preschool was Friday! He loves his teachers and is excited about making new friends this year. I can't believe this will be his last year of preschool! I love his school and think he's going to have an incredible year.
