So, I am officially down 12 pounds!!!! I lost about 3 this week, which is shocking to me because I only did the Shred (level 3!!) twice, since we were so busy with getting Bryan ready for Haiti and plus I was so tired this week! I am really starting to be able to tell a difference, and my day was made one day last week when a friend told me she could tell and that I was looking good! (Bryan tells me all the time, but he's my husband! He's supposed to say those things, right?) The frustrating thing is my clothes right now...all my jeans are the bigger size, which are starting to look really baggy...but I don't want to buy new jeans until fall. Shorts are ok with a belt. But most of the shirts I bought at the beginning of summer (May) are an XL (I know, yikes, right?) and they look super baggy and not very good right now. Oh well. I'm not going to go spend money when it is pointless to do so. I'll wait till fall and maybe a little shopping trip can be my reward! :)
In other news, Bryan headed off to Haiti on Saturday, bright and early. We Skyped on Sat. night (modern technology is so awesome!) and he told me about the trip down. He got bumped to first class from Ft. Lauderdale to Haiti!! His first time ever, and on a mission trip--I thought that was so funny. He is saving the blanket they gave him to give to Caleb as a "souvenir". He stayed at the Samaritan's Purse compound the first night, but then got moved to a tent camp in downtown Port-au-Prince the next night. He got to experience worship at a Haitian church yesterday morning (in 3 languages!), went kayaking with one of the workers, and checked out the place where they were setting up the mobile clinics. Today the real work begins! I sent him with my camera so I'm hoping he's taking lots of pictures! He ended up taking an entire suitcase down of medical supplies, and they were so happy to get them! They were in desperate need for thermometer covers, and he just happened to have a whole bunch of them--someone asked him if someone asked him to bring those and he said "no"...but I guess God did! Pretty cool stuff. It has also been so amazing and humbling to see how God had all the money come together for the trip. It really did ALL come together, and it was just amazing to see. Please keep him in your prayers this week...I'm sure he'll need them! And I'm already missing him...I'm used to him being gone at night, but not EVERY night...and he usually helps me once he gets up in the afternoons...so I could use some prayers as well. :)
In MORE news, my dad and Christy bought a house here in Kentucky this past weekend! It's in Boone's Trace, between Lexington and Richmond. It is a SUPER nice house with a full finished basement, a wraparound front porch, a great backyard, etc. I can't wait for Caleb to get to play over there! It will be so nice for Caleb to have his "Pop-Pop" closer than Texas (where he only saw him a couple times a year)!
Well that's it for now! I have pictures I need to upload when I get a chance!

Weigh-in Monday!
I was down another pound this week. I won't lie and say I wasn't a tad disappointed that it wasn't more than a pound, because I know one pound a week is healthy weight loss, but I WAS a little disappointed. However, I have NOT done a good job of writing down my food this week, and have eaten out a couple of times, so I wasn't too surprised! I finally finished Level 2 of the 30 day shred--so today I start level 3 for 10 more days, eek!! I was pretty proud of that this week! We also walked 2 miles in the blistering heat last night, which I think should count for extra calories burned! I just need to lose one more pound to say I've lost 10 total, so I am SURE I can make that happen in the next week. Ok, so that's that for the weigh in post! A Father's Day post coming soon. :)

Monday weigh in
Hi there! Well, I am happy to report that I was down 1.5 pounds this week! I know it's not as exciting as when I was down 3, but I DID have a piece of wedding cake on Friday night, some Hershey Kisses, and I didn't work out nearly as much as I had been/should have. I have completed Day 17 of the 30 day shred-only 3 more days till level 3! I can feel a difference, especially in my arms. I also did the Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD tonight as well as the Shred. It was good. Bob is so nice, and so different than mean ol' Jillian! ;) I went to Olive Garden with a friend tonight, so I was feeling especially guilty for indulging in breadsticks and bruschetta. I hope to have worked at least ONE breadstick off! I really need to get back on the working out thing this week, and I need to remember to write down what I eat-I think that helps a lot. My goal is to lose about 2.5 lbs this week so I can say I've lost 10 lbs. total! We'll see if that happens...it would be nice!! Some of my pants are feeling a little big-especially my jeans...but I don't want to buy new ones until at least fall, b/c I don't want to have to keep buying different sizes.
That's all for now-here's to a new week!

A beautiful wedding!
This Friday night, my stepsister Kelsey got married in Cincinnati...it was a beautiful wedding, she was a GORGEOUS bride, and her new husband, Cody, seems like a top-notch guy. The wedding was outside at the Ault Park Observatory. It was a beautiful location and the weather was perfect. The reception was right where the wedding was, which was nice. The dinner was fantastic, the cake was phenomenal, and it was great to see family. My dad gave one of the speeches, and he did a great job...I definitely did not inherit his ability to speak in front of others (unless they are 7 years old)! One of the sweetest things about the wedding was that Cody's Little League team that he coaches were there...I thought that was so telling of what kind of guy Cody is. Here are some pics of the night!

Weigh-in Monday!
I am happy to report that I lost 3 pounds this week!! That puts me at about 6 lbs. down from when I got the scale! I was so relieved, because I ate at Panera both Fri night and Sun afternoon, and even though I knew that I was fine, calorie-wise, it still scared me. I have also completed up to Day 14 of the 30 Day Shred, so I'm almost halfway done with it! I despise level 2, I really do...so I'm pretty uninspired to do it...but I've been trying for at least every other day. We've still been eating good, and eating out a lot less, which I know is helping tremendously! Also, we watched the documentary, "Food, Inc." this past weekend and it really inspired me to buy more organic food, especially meat...so that's what I bought this weekend! So, feeling pretty good overall. I have a wedding this Friday, and I'm hoping to buy a dress one size down from what my shorts/jeans are currently...not sure that will happen, but I hope so...it would really boost my self-esteem. :)
That's all for now...woo hoo!

Headed to Haiti...
Big news!! Bryan is headed to Haiti at the end of the month. He will be working with Samaritan's Purse, which is the organization that does the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes...it's run by Franklin Graham (Billy Graham's son). He will get to put his nursing skills to good use, which he is very excited about, and will be doing it all in Jesus' name. It is extremely short notice, so we have no idea how we're going to come up with the $800 he needs for the plane ticket...but he is sending out a support letter hopefully tomorrow, and I KNOW God will provide...I'm actually pretty excited to see just how He does! I am sure this trip is going to change him...how could it not?! I can't even begin to imagine the kinds of things and people he will see while there. I'm kinda hoping he'll bring home a sweet orphaned baby or two in his suitcase (just kidding!). I'm sending my camera down with him and ordering him to take lots of pictures. :)
As for me, I am a little nervous about being home alone with Caleb for a week, but I know God will give me strength, and we're always busy during the day anyway...I'm just a little spoiled because Bryan is usually up in the afternoons to give me a break, let me work on dinner, etc. while he plays with Caleb. I'm sure I'll be tired, but I'll need to remember that I have NOTHING to complain about, really. And I am used to him being gone at night already.
If you could, please pray for Bryan, that he would raise the money quickly, that he would be safe both in the plane travel as well as when he's there working, and that God would really use him to be the hands and feet of Jesus in such a devastated part of the world. He is a wonderful nurse, and I know the people there will be blessed by him...and I know HE will be blessed by THEM! Also just pray that I would have peace of mind and heart when he's gone, that Caleb's not-wanting-to-sleep tantrums would not be a problem, and that we would stay busy enough that we won't miss him too terribly bad. Thanks!!!

Memorial Day Fun!
We had a GREAT Memorial Day yesterday! We started out by going over to Ms. Pat and Mr. Brad's house for Horsey Day in the morning (with Daddy for the first time!!), and had a blast. Caleb is getting soooooo much braver around the horses...this time he fed them carrots by himself, putting them right in their mouths. The horses are SO very gentle and kind. Mr. Brad also got out his riding lawn mower with a trailer attached and took the kids on a ride around the farm, which of course Caleb LOVED. Such amazing memories being made...they are soo wonderful to let us come every week and have a picnic and play. I've really been enjoying getting to know the other mommies there as well. It makes me really appreciate living in such a beautiful part of the country (despite it's lack of an ocean anywhere near by, haha!).

Then, that evening we had a good time at Uncle Matt and Aunt Ashley's house for a little cookout, where Gigi was there, too! We played cornhole, Caleb chased their two doggies around, ate some good food, and had fun visiting. :) It was truly a great day! (Besides starting level 2 of the Shred which was NOT fun...I forgot how much I dislike that almost every move is in the plank position, blah!!!)
