Good weekend

We had a good weekend this past weekend (wow, that sounded redundant!)! The weather was GORGEOUS, which is such a welcome change from the yucky wintry weather we've had. We played with Caleb outside a bit, relaxed, went to church Sat night, storytime Sunday morning, ran errands today-got Caleb his new BIG BOY car seat!-and life group tonight. It was good except for Caleb screaming his head off in the nursery again. It kills me to come upstairs and see him SOOO upset. We're thinking about trying to start going on Sunday mornings to see if it's the time that's messing him up. He gets cranky when it's close to his bedtime, so I'm thinking morning might be better. But that stinks because we LOVE going to church on Sat. nights. So, we'll see. I don't want him to be miserable!!

Speaking of chuch, the message was really great this weekend. It was about Abraham and the faith he had to have to trust God to give him a son in his old age, and to have the faith to lay Isaac on the altar at Mt. Moriah. Jon talked about how God makes promises, and always has a provision (aka the ram for the sacrifice instead of Isaac). He talked about our own "hills" we have to climb in our lives and urged us to trust God no matter how hard it might be. It's also pretty awesome to see the parallel between Abraham being willing to give his only son as a sacrifice on a hill, and how God gave HIS only son as a sacrifice on a hill called Golgotha...possibly the exact same one. Ooh, chills. :)

We were excited and sad to buy Caleb his big boy car seat today. Had to put the newborn carrier in the garage-hopefully to be used in the future-and it was bittersweet. He's getting so big! He has a new word-"buh buh" to add to his other word "da da". It's cute how he makes his lips form to say the "b" sound.

So all in all, a good weekend! Hopefully the weather will be nice this week and we can go to the park a bunch! We also need to pack for our Texas trip coming up!
